![]() Otherwise, the None data will be obtained during graph composition because the graph input is transferred only during graph execution and the input data cannot be obtained during graph composition. Why is the value lost?Ī: The multiples input of the Tile operator must be a constant (The value cannot directly or indirectly come from the input of the graph). Q: When the Tile operator in operations executes _infer_, the value is None. In addition, the loss corresponding to padding_idx is filtered out through the mask operation during training. In MindSpore, you can manually initialize the weight corresponding to the padding_idx position of embedding to 0. Can other operators implement this operation?Ī: In PyTorch, padding_idx is used to set the word vector in the padding_idx position in the embedding matrix to 0, and the word vector in the padding_idx position is not updated during backward propagation. Q: Compared with PyTorch, the nn.Embedding layer lacks the padding operation. Q: Can MindSpore calculate the variance of any tensor?Ī: Currently, MindSpore does not have APIs or operators which can directly calculate the variance of a tensor. Q: Does MindSpore support matrix transposition?Ī: Yes. However, the number of group must be the same as the number of input and output channels. Currently, only the nn.Conv2d API of MindSpore supports group convolution. Currently, this operator does not support a value of group that is greater than 1. Is it necessary to ensure that the value of group can be exactly divided by the input and output dimensions? How is the group parameter transferred?Ī: The Conv2d operator has the following constraint: When the value of group is greater than 1, the value must be the same as the number of input and output channels. Q: When Conv2D is used to define convolution, the group parameter is used. ![]() What is a better solution (running in dynamic mode) for Concat to concatenate tuples containing multiple Tensors?Ī: The number of tensors to be concatenated at a time cannot exceed 192 according to the bottom-layer specifications of the Ascend operator. An error occurs when the number of tensor list elements entered is greater than or equal to 192. Q: An error occurs when the Concat operator concatenates tuples containing multiple tensors. Huawei Ascend supports 5D format operations, and uses the transdata operator to convert data from 4D to 5D to improve performance. In this case, the framework automatically inserts the TransData operator to convert the data formats into the same format and then performs computation. Q: What is the function of the TransData operator? Can the performance be optimized?Ī: The TransData operator is used in the scenario where the data formats (such as NC1HWC0) used by interconnected operators on the network are inconsistent. Q: In the construct function of the static graph mode, how do I remove all negative values contained in a tensor?Ī: You are advised to use the ops.clip_by_value interface to change all negative numbers to 0 for computation. For example, ncatenate is used to replace the ops.concat for computation. In the post-processing phase (in a non-network calculation process, that is, in a non- construct function), numpy can be directly used for computation. create_dict_iterator ( output_numpy = True ) Environment Preparation and Information Acquisition.TensorFlow and MindSpore API Mapping Table.PyTorch and MindSpore API Mapping Table.High Performance Data Processing Engine.Graph-Kernel Fusion Acceleration Engine.Combination of Dynamic and Static Graphs.

![]() It just needed me to download and install four APK files, making sure they were from a reliable source and in the right order. On this most recent occasion, I was pleased to find that the process is just as simple as last time. That means that, every couple of years, I’ve needed to go back around the loop of installing Google Play on my Kindle. Luckily, it was close to “Amazon Prime Day” and so my 2020 Kindle Fire HD was not too big a hit on the wallet… Then, after an accident with a water glass by my bedside, my 7th generation (2018) Fire HD was fried (I don’t think it was water damage – I think an electrical surge damaged it) and I needed to replace it. Over the years, I’ve had a few Kindles: first I bought one of the eInk devices then I bought a Fire HD in 2016, and another in 2018 because my first one was lacking in memory. This is not the first time I’ve blogged on this topic but both Android and the Fire OS have moved on considerably, so I thought it was time for an update. Fire OS doesn’t include Google’s app store (Google Play) and the Amazon store has fewer apps. Please be warned that the information here may be out of date.Īmazon’s Kindle Fire tablets are excellent value but they run their own version of Android (Fire OS). I don't routinely update old blog posts as they are only intended to represent a view at a particular point in time. However, the charger is capable of only 5 W charging-you have to buy a more powerful charger to hit the tablet’s maximum 15 W charging speed. This content is 2 years old. The Fire HD 8 even comes with a charger, whereas Samsung’s tablets do not. ![]() ![]() (If you mainly plan on reading, keep in mind that the high-contrast, higher-resolution electronic-ink screen on Amazon’s Kindle models makes any of those a better choice as a reading device.) And the lower-resolution screen on the Fire HD 8 gives this tablet amazing battery life: This tablet can last three or four days on a charge with intermittent usage, and Amazon finally has USB-C on its Fire tablets instead of the older Micro-USB. Still, the screen is good enough for you to watch videos or get some reading done. The screen also shows more fingerprints and is harder to keep clean. The 8-inch screen’s 1280×800 resolution is a lot lower than that of either of the Galaxy Tab displays, which makes text and images visibly less sharp the brightness and the color reproduction rank far behind what Samsung’s models produce, as well. A microSD card slot is nice, as it lets you add storage, but not all apps take advantage of external storage, and microSD cards are slower than built-in storage. A tablet should have at least 32 GB of internal space to ensure that you have the breathing room to do so. Storage: Although streaming your media is convenient, at times you’re likely to want to download video, music, and documents to your tablet in advance-for example, if you’ll be on a plane without Wi-Fi access.A tablet’s large screen also makes it better for gaming than a phone, so it’s nice if the tablet has the horsepower to play the latest mobile titles. But a good tablet needs to be able to keep up with increasing app and OS requirements. Performance: Every tablet will feel slower over the course of two to three years as apps grow larger and demand even more power, and as the Android operating system adds useful but demanding features like split-screen multitasking. At this writing, we draw the line at Android 12-a tablet running anything older than that isn’t worth buying. Software: It’s important for a tablet to run a recent version of Android plus, tablets tend to get software updates less frequently than phones, so you shouldn’t start at a disadvantage. The tablet should also be able to last through at least a full day of heavy use-eight or more hours of browsing the web, streaming video, and running apps. If a tablet’s standby time can’t be measured in days, it’s not good enough. The last thing you want when coming back to your tablet is a dead battery. Battery life: You probably don’t carry your tablet with you everywhere, as you do your phone, so it can be easy to forget to plug your tablet in.Watching video is one of the most common uses for a tablet, and no one wants to be staring at a dingy, low-res screen while they binge Netflix. Display: A good tablet must have a high-resolution screen with a wide brightness range. ![]() ![]() When looking at the map before spawning, you can see tank icons. Otherwise you may have to find an available seat somewhere. If the map just started, then you may have the choice between which tank to get in: If you spawn away from them, look around and you should see the 3 seats icons somewhere (top left in the picture): Once a game start and you spawn at an HQ, make your way to the nearby tank. You can keep track of the remaining ammunition on the right side of the screen.ĭon’t forget that friendly fire is on so if you’re not careful you may be blowing up your teammates, in which case you will see a message saying you killed a friendly unit. ![]() There is only one shell at the time in the main gun and it takes a few seconds to reload so always be prepared and in fight, don’t waste any time reloading right after you fired. ![]() Never forget to load shells in the main gun. Since we’re talking about the turret movement, here are the controls for the Gunner: You can see that icon in the two pictures above, where the gun is aligned with the body and below were it is slightly turned to the right: There is an icon at the center and bottom of the screen to indicate if the gun is in the same axis as the body or not. You can also become an obstacle if the turret gun hits some buildings or trees. In case only the Driver and Gunner seats are filled (Periscope being empty), with your view, you can help the driver by guiding him around obstacles. If allies are nearby you can also see their icons: Here is an example of you basic view from that seat: Unlike the Driver you get to zoom in or out (using the Mouse Wheel Up and Down) to get either a global view or a more precise view for long distance shots. The Gunner role requires some skills to move the gun (cannon) and still aim properly while the tank is moving and it requires a bit of coordination with the other roles and the info you have. The Gunner seat is the second to be filled, after the Driver one. It might be a bit counterintuitive but that’s how it works. You need to press W, not S, to get moving. As far as I know, once it’s done, the tank is always on afterwards. Starting the engine is the very first step to getting the tank moving. You can find the controls in options, but here are the default keys for the Driver seat: Gear 4 is for speed, to get to the frontline from spawn or get out of the fight quickly. Lower gears ( 1-2) and Reverse are great for turning and maneuvering (in fights or going around buildings or narrow roads) while gear 3 can be used for high mobility in a fight on an open field with little relief. Just like in real life, you’ll need to change gear to really get the most of it. You see in which gear the transmission is set at the bottom of your screen, on the right side, between the compass and the seats logo. The gears are : 4– 3– 2– 1– Park- Reverse Yup, knowing and understanding how a manual transmission work an help you a bit. The second reason is the Tank transmission is a manual one. That’s all you get to see and it’s the only seat from which you can’t zoom or slightly change the angle. While there is an interdependence between the roles to effectively maneuver the tank and engage the enemy, there are two main reasons why the Driver role requires skills (and practice). The first seat being filled in an empty tank, the Driver seat requires the most skills. Aya Brea herself is a character who is strong and competent enough to handle whatever situation is thrown at her yet, at the same time, is not emotionless and stoic and she feels like an actual human being. ![]() What is also great about Parasite Eve are its characters. This is not exactly a bad thing seeing as how Parasite Eve is paced well enough that you will still feel satisfied by the end, but just do not expect for it to last too long. The main game can be beaten in less than ten hours, and if you tackle the post game content, it will still be under twenty hours. In fact, the game itself is quite short by RPG standards. Parasite Eve is a very linear game though and there are no overworld maps and relatively few areas in the game. Times have certainly changed have they not? It is rather surprising that Parasite Eve was apparently supposed to be a cinematic RPG, yet it is less cutscene heavy than a lot of RPGs released today. There are a lot more details that I did not explain regarding Parasite Eve’s plot simply because figuring them out as you go along helps the experience a lot more. The rest of the game slowly unravels the mystery ,and exactly what she is. The reason Aya is immune to this is because her mitochondria are similar to Eve’s, which protects her from Eve’s attacks. No one other than Aya can even go near Eve due to her ability to use the mitochondria energy to set anyone in close proximity on fire. After a failure to track down the lead actress Melissa, who suddenly calls herself Eve, the police are informed of this and, unlike just about every other horror story ever written, the police are actually competent and try to prevent the same thing from happening again.įrom then on, it is revealed that Eve is actually the result of rogue mitochondria that have evolved to the point where they no longer need to work with the human body, and that the rest of the game’s monsters are caused by the mitochondria taking over. However, less than five minutes after you arrive, the lead actress turns out to be a mutant and the entire audience, aside from Aya, spontaneously combusts and Aya heads after her into the sewers below. Parasite Eve’s story takes place in a modern day New York City where a rookie cop, Aya Brea, and her date go to see an opera on Christmas Eve. The game itself still serves as a solid RPG with some rather questionable design choices, but had I not been told beforehand, I would not have even realized that it was supposed to be a survival horror game. However, what is interesting is that they do not contrast with each other completely. ![]() The game tries too hard to combine its RPG elements with aspects of the survival horror genre, that was then recently popularized by Resident Evil, that the two genres interfere with each other. There are a lot of well crafted aspects to the game and it is not difficult in the slightest to see that Squaresoft had great intentions, but it is these intentions that ultimately bring it down. The problem with Parasite Eve it has a lot of frustrating moments to it. To its credit, Parasite Eve does have a very well told story, a solid combat system, cool looking FMV cutscenes, and a great soundtrack they just do not mesh together well. However, that would be rather unfair to the game itself now wouldn’t it? So if I wanted to be a complete hypocrite and be as close minded as the very people I just criticized, I could brush Parasite Eve off as a hipster’s Final Fantasy VII. ![]() Chances are this game will be either Xenogears, Parasite Eve, or any other Squaresoft game that is not Chrono Cross or Final Fantasy VIII. Although there will usually be at least one other PSOne Squaresoft RPG that demonstrates their true prowess before they suddenly forgot how to make good games. The game that was allegedly the sign of the series downfall will generally vary from person to person, but chances are it will usually be Final Fantasy VII, which just so happens to be the game that made the series popular. Of course some of these people will claim the Final Fantasy series has been dead long before their current scapegoat existed. The thought process of the player base of Squaresoft games is that supposedly “Squaresoft had so many great games back then and everything they made after the merger sucks.” Well I suppose it is a given that there will be something stupid that comes out of any large enough fan base but still. One aspect I will never understand of JRPG fandom is the intense hatred towards Square Enix lately. ![]() In the architectural ironmongery industry, the most common purpose of the grub screw is to attach a door knob or door handle directly to the spindle shaft. Grub screws perform a great many different roles in various industries, such as in mechanics and engineering, where metal surfaces rub together and must not be obstructed by screw or bolt heads. This is useful in situations where a traditional nut and bolt fixing would either obstruct the operation of an item, or be aesthetically unacceptable. This is important, because the ability to secure without a nut makes the grub screw very versatile, and means that a grub screw can be used in applications that require a very small and unobtrusive fixing. So, what function does the grub screw perform? Well, the grub screw is generally used to secure an item against another item, without the use of a nut. This is because it is grooved, so that it may be threaded into a pre-existing threaded hole, rather than driven into a surface, like a traditional screw would be. Let's take a look at what causes this and how to resolve this problem, as well as asking what type of grub screw is best to use, and actually why it is that we use grub screws.Ī grub screw, also sometimes known as a 'set-screw' in North America and other countries, is actually rather confusingly a type of bolt. “My grub screws keep falling out, how can I fix this problem?” Is a question we are sometimes asked.
